Over Cast Foot

This magical little foot has a guide bar that allows zigzag or overlocking stitches to wrap around edges of fabric, and provides perfect tension needed for you to do so. Your fabric will never unravel, never fray and will always be binded together the way you want it too! Create many designs with this as well!

Very popular and different presser feet for most of household multi-functional sewing machines with a low shank, such as Singer, Baby Lock, Brother, Janome, etc.

The overcast foot is also known as an overedge foot, or an overlocking foot. Essentially it allows thread to wrap around the edge of the fabric to prevent unraveling.  It is a magical little sewing machine foot that can give you an edging similar to that of an overlocker with just about any sewing machine.

Providing you an edging similar to that of an overlocker, this magical little foot is also known as an overlock or overedge foot.

  • Stainless Steel
  • Easy to use, durable
  • Suitable for most domestic low-shank machines. For low-shank machines, measure the distance from the screw on the metal pole that the sewing machine foot/ adapter is attached to, all the way to the bottom of a standard presser foot. It should measure 3/4" (0.75 inches).

Place your fabric against the guide of the foot. Use an overcast-stitch or wide zig-zag stitch. If you use a wide zig-zag stitch, start slow to check that your needle doesn't hit the metal bar of the foot.

Fits Most Low Shank Machines: Singer, Brother, Babylock, Viking (Husky Series), Euro-Pro, Janome, Kenmore, White, Juki, Bernina (Bernette Series), New Home, Necchi, Elna and More!

Overcast stitches that move forward only are suited for light-medium weight fabrics. Overcast stitches that move back and forwards provide additional reinforcement and are better suited for medium to heavyweight fabrics. These may even result in serged-edge looking stitches, all without the use of a serger! Tip: Use nylon threads for fuller effects together with the OVERCAST foot.

Overcast/ zig-zag stitches with the OVERCAST foot along the edge of stretchy knit fabric create curved wavy edges!

Add fringe effortlessly to your projects! You can stitch with the OVERCAST foot using wooly nylon thread. When the stitching is done, use a pair of embroidery scissors to cut out the stitches to enjoy the effects of acute fringe.

Create pintucks! Simply fold fabric and line it up against the guide and stitch away
